Når kunsten bliver mit sprog – en fortælling om transformation

When art becomes my language – a story of transformation

From doctor to artist: A journey home to myself

There was a time when I was a general practitioner in Odense.
I helped people every day – listening, treating, making things fit together.

But slowly I myself disappeared.
Stress and burnout forced me to quit. I sold my clinic and had to ask myself:
What now? Who am I when I'm no longer a doctor?

A different healing

My path back was not through medicine – but through nature, animals and silence.
I participated in equine-assisted therapy, and later became a therapist myself. I helped people with anxiety, stress, and grief – through conversation and contact with the horses.
I wrote two books about how nature and animals can calm the nervous system and transform darkness into strength and magic.

But something was still missing.

A new understanding

During an assessment regarding my burnout, I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder – Asperger's.
And with that came a realization: My autistic strength is my creativity and intuition.

I suddenly understood why I had felt overstimulated and exhausted in roles where I ignored my own sensitivity to be of service to others.
I understood that to be whole, I had to paint. Every day. In my own way.

Art became my language

“My art speaks when words fail – and reminds you of the magic within yourself.”

As a child, I loved to draw.
Today, art has become my language, my joy, my sanctuary – and my contribution to the world.

I especially paint horses because they carry the magic that I myself have found healing in.
Through my art I can still help people – without being physically present as a therapist. The paintings bring with them reassurance, relief and strength.

An art with intention

My style is fantasy realism – rich colors, depth, layers upon layers.
I work with oil paint, acrylic underpainting, ink and spray, and each image is created with the intention of transforming darkness into hope.

I am inspired by nature, by the nonverbal signals between animals and humans – what we notice but cannot always put into words.
That's why my paintings often strike directly into the heart.
They evoke memories.
They calm the nervous system.
They bring magic into the home.

When art meets the collector

A collector once told me that one of my works brought tears to my eyes.
It reminded her of a loved one she had lost.
The painting became a place where grief could find space – and relief could arise.

This is exactly what I hope my art does:
That it helps you find home within yourself.
That it reflects your journey, your emotions – and your magic.
